Ekaterina Shcherbakova (Novorossiysk, Russia) is an independent curator, art critic and PhD researcher residing in Paris, France. She obtained a MA in Applied Cultural Studies and Philosophy at National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow and University Paris-Sorbonne. She participated to Session 22 of the Ecole du Magasin, International Curatorial Training Program in Grenoble. In 2010-2012 she collaborated with several private galleries in Moscow. She is a co-curator of group exhibitions «I lie to them». Based on a true story (CNAC Le Magasin, Grenoble, France) and This is the place (La Conciergerie, CNAC Le Magasin, Grenoble, France), a curatorial performance Spontaneous Museum at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris, France). She is a contributor of The Calvert Journal, Aesthetica Magazine and Peeping Tom's Digestco-founder of the platform The Voyerist and co-author of Cul-de-sac Curatorial Diary. She was nominated for Young Curators Prize (2014) by The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (Moscow). In 2015 she conceived the program of performances La Voix Humaine (Church St. Eustache, Paris, France) and contributed to the personal exhibition Conversion of Recycle Group within the framework of the 56th Venice Biennale. In 2015 she joined a research team of Centre Pompidou (Paris) « History of Exhibitions ». She was a curator at La Box gallery (École nationale supérieure d'art de Bourges, France) in 2015-2016 and at MJC Le Grand Cordel (Rennes, France) in 2016-2017. She is a co-curator of the Russian Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale.
