Spontaneous Museum Curatorial Performance

Palais de Tokyo

Paris 20.06.2014

Spontaneous Museum is a performance conceived by two young curators, Ekaterina Shcherbakova and Azad Asifovich. It's the freedom of participation in a multidisciplinary space, created within the project of Thomas Hirschhorn, Flame Éternelle, that inspired their initiative. It's a space of possibilities and open knowledge that is constantly progressing. The aim of the performance is the creation of a chance, a haphazard approach to whether things are done. It creates a collection, based on the concept of spontaneity as well as on subjectivity. In a way it's a proposal for humanized collection, free from any institutional rules of the art world. It is a spontaneous gesture that imitates a classical museum and will exist only for one evening.

The museum's collection contains works of Julien Creuzet, Elodie Dao, Anne Deguelle, Lucio Fontana, Olga Kisseleva, Elizaveta Konovalova, Laura Kuusk, Camille Laurelli, Kazimir Malevich, François Roux, David Ter-Oganyan, Ekaterina Vassilieva and other masterpieces.
